**”Your house was really lovely, warm and cosy! we had a really great time in Hebden Bridge. Congratulations and well done with the house, it is fantastic! We have stayed in a lot of houses and yours is a really good one!

If I was to be really picky I would have liked to have had another bedside lamp in the master room and a slightly longer cable on the one in the twin room so that it could go between the two beds. Also and this is something I take for granted, a washing machine? to wash wet muddy clothes and doggy towels when you have been out walking in the rain. To which we get a lot of!!! in Britain.

But as I say a wonderful warm, clean home from home”.

And we replied…

Really pleased you liked the house, and we’ll sort the lights out as you suggest. We’re going to get a washing machine next week.

Thanks for the feedback, joe and beck.

Update 12 April 2011

We’ve installed the machine today.

“We have all really enjoyed our stay here in Hebden Bridge.  The Stamp Office is a great base to allow us to explore the area.  Thank you.”

“We have really enjoyed our stay, quite sad to be leaving early.  A great location and the house thoughtfully renovated and decorated beautifully.

Egg cups and a mirror in the double room would have been the only minor addition.

Thankyou for a lovely break.”

We replied.

We have the egg cups waiting and will put a mirror in before our next guests.  Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback.

“The beds are really comfy! Mattresses, duvets all v. good compared to others we’ve stayed in.  Toddler loved the toys and pram.  Great location, lovely house inside.  Very useful having a pint of milk on arrival.  Overall a really good experience.  Points below are minor.

Kitchen could be better stocked.  Didn’t matter much for us this stay, but if we stayed somewhere for a week would appreciate more utensils, especially grater, veg peeler.  Also tea towels in kitchen, hand towels for WCs.  Bottom lock on door very tricky.  Had to ask for help on arrival or would have been stuck”

We replied

Thanks for the feedback – we’ve tried to fit out the house as well as we can.  Point taken about the peeler and grater, we’ll get these for the next visitors.  We have got tea towels and hand towels in the house – we’ll make sure they are in clear view next time – and we’ll sort the lock out.  This is really useful feedback, thanks.  Joe and Beck

Update May 2011

We’ve now fitted a new lock.

(Likes?) “Tastefully decorated.  Comfortable bed and quality linen.  Close to all amenities and shops.  The welcome pack.  (Could improve?) “We have suggested a tray, milk jug and small dishes would be useful”

We replied

Thanks for the feedback.  We’ll get a tray, smaller dishes and a milk jug as you suggest.  Really glad you enjoyed your stay.

(Likes?) “We enjoyed the position of the house with respect to the town.  We did all the local walks from the house, and found it a good base for visits to Haworth, Skipton and even York.  We enjoyed the space of a 3 storey Town House, and the contemporary decor, period features bang on and was very well equipped.  Our overall opinion is that our accommodation was excellent, a fabulous welcome…”

(Could Improve?)” Maybe a few more soft furnishings (cushions) to complement the suite, and we feel that the front bedrooom could be better as the master as the travel cot etc would have more space (only a suggestion, not a complaint). Weather during our stay was very good, but had it been bad weather, we find a washer/drier to be beneficial for walkers with wet clothing.”

We replied

It’s great that you enjoyed yourselves, thanks for the positive feedback.  We have tried to make sure that everything in the house “fits”, but will look out for some cushions as you suggest.  We keep thinking about the bedrooms – on balance we are going to leave them as they are so that there is more room between the single beds when the room is set that way.  We did look at Washer Driers when we bought the washer, but reliability seems to be an issue,  and we have tried to take energy consumption into account when buying appliances for the Stamp Office.  Thanks again for the feedback – it’s really useful.
